We are a family who have a vision to help and support the Congolese people. We try to improve the healthcare. We have built a clinic in Kiyaya in the town of Uvira. Our aim is to create jobs as unemployment is a big problem. We work also in different sectors including agriculture and handcraft.

Meet the Founders

Dr. Butoto Kazera and Maija Kazera are the visionary founders of Fondation Kazera — an organisation rooted in compassion, community service, and a deep commitment to healthcare an empowerment to people of Uvira.

Dr. Butoto Kazera

Dr. Butoto Kazera is a specialist ENT doctor with years of experience serving both in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Finland. He has worked extensively in Congolese hospitals and rural clinics, providing critical care in areas with limited medical access. Now based in Finland, he continues to practice medicine while contributing his expertise to Fondation Kazera. His goal is to support sustainable healthcare solutions through a practical, community-focused approach.

Maija Kazera

Maija Kazera is a special education teacher with experience in both Africa and Finland. She has worked with children from diverse backgrounds, focusing on inclusive education and support for learning challenges. Maija has extensive experience working in international organisations serving Africa nations.
